Time To Recycle

BY REV GOH YONG KUANG

11 You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,

12 that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise you forever.

Psalm 30:11-12, NIV

If you are residing in an HDB estate, you would most likely notice large blue recycling bins placed at strategic locations that are convenient and accessible to the residents.

One recycling company has these words on its website: “By recycling, you give materials new life. Some items travel through the recycling and manufacturing process and are back on the store shelf in as little as 30 days!”  Such simple information is useful in encouraging consumers like us to do our part.

God has provided us a recycle bin, so to speak, to dump all our hurts and regrets, our damaged lives, broken dreams, unhealthy habits and messy relationships.

What can God do for you?

He can convert the old into new, the ugly into something beautiful.

He can salvage what is useless and make it useful.

He can re-take our old life and re-create it, re-purpose it, re-use it for His glory.

What must we do?

We must surrender our old, messy life, our spiritual and emotional garbage to God for His disposal.

We must let God take the bad things that happen in our lives and turn them into something good.

Time to recycle! Take out your trash! Let God turn them into treasures for His purpose and glory!
