THE CHANGE FACTOR 1: GO FOR THE ROOT

REV DR FOREST KOH

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. - ROMANS 12:2

“Don’t fall into the trap, don’t fall into the trap, don’t fall into the trap!”

When someone says this,  nothing will change, it has been like that all the while, don’t believe what they said because they are trapped!

I heard of an interesting story...

An army officer was perplexed why two soldiers were assigned to keep watch over a bench. When he asked why, they responded, “This is our tradition, it has been like that, we have been doing this for years.”

Not happy with the answer, the officer traced back to the root of the “tradition”. The officer-in-charge who first gave the command was already a centenarian. In his frail and weak voice, he whispered with great surprise, “What? The paint is still wet after these years?”

Don’t fall into the trap of tradition, of appeasing human relationships, of conformity to the world, and conclude that things cannot be changed. Change is always happening! Apostle Paul exhorted that we must be transformed and renewed in the will of God. In Christ, we are always renewing and changing.

Perhaps, you are drained, and you have lost hope, and things seem to become worse. If you are truly in Christ, positive change will happen, ultimately, even during times when you are not there to witness it.

Be hopeful – seek God and go for the root of your issue.

Be a part of the change factor.
