GOD WATCHES OVER YOU

BY PR DR JEREMY CHEW

“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” - MATTHEW 6:26

When my son, Jed, was only six, he spotted a bird’s nest on his way to school.  There were two eggs inside. Since then, he would stop by the nest every day to see what would happen next. A few days later, he saw the mother bird sitting on the eggs. Rain or shine, she never left the nest until the nestlings were hatched. On the way home one day, Jed could not find the little birds in the nest. They were gone!  His little troubled heart caused him to immediately pray, “Dear God, please take care of the little birds. Amen.” Upon reaching home, we were surprised to find one of the little birds perched on our window. Our hearts were warmed as we were reminded of God’s care for us, just as He cared for little birds. With the incident still fresh on his mind, my son sketched the above comic strip.

As we see a spike in the number of covid cases recently, our level of stress and worry may also increase. Let us be reminded that the God who watches over little birds also watches over us.
