If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
~~ MATTHEW 16:24 ~~
The month of May is our Glory Presbyterian Church Care Group Month. It is a time of reflection, to consider how God has blessed us, individually and in our small groups. It is a time of encouragement, as we proactively gather, to fellowship and encourage each other in God’s presence. It is a time of celebration, to celebrate our community life as children of God.
One highlight of the CG month this year is the acrylic art painting sessions. Over one hundred participants joined the three art jam sessions. We gathered with our CG to paint together, each painting our own cross, and sharing our reflection of our paintings. There was creativity, there was chaos, there was fun. We saw God in the simple things in life. A no- frills art painting session displayed the grace our God has provided for us.
The CG Committee planned for this year’s CG Month activity with trepidation. We knew we needed to facilitate for CGs to gather and celebrate CG life. But we did not know how? We executed the art sessions with faith. Will there be any sign-ups? Will CG members welcome the idea?
Faith … is the conviction of things not seen. With faith, we moved forward to open the registration. The gathering was encouraging. The art pieces were fascinating.
Stir up one another, as long as it is called today. Even as we draw to a close of CG Month this year, continue to encourage each other to gather in our Care Groups. We are made for community.
24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,
25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another…
