As a church, we will be looking at the Psalms for this coming month. The Psalms are such wonderful works of art. Each of us may have a favourite psalm or two. For me, when there are deep feelings that cannot be expressed, I feel like God peers deep into my soul and inspired the Psalmist long ago to put my feelings into words. Other times, I want to express something to God in prayer, but I can’t find the words, so I like to borrow from the Psalmists too!

Three times I (Paul) pleaded with the Lord about this,

that it should leave me. But he said to me,

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness…

for when I am weak, then I am strong.”

Paul exhorts the Corinthians in 2 Corinthians 7:1 to “cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.” How are we to bring “holiness to completion”?

With the blessings of another year and the coming celebration of the Lunar New Year, let the theme of our church be a continual guide to us in ‘Showing Care For One Another.’

Our church theme for 2022 is ‘Fellowship’ with a focus on ‘A Heart for One Another’                [Romans 12:10a, “Love one another with brotherly affection”].

In a large church in South America, a pastor got up to deliver his sermon. He stood before the congregation and said, “Love one another,” then he sat down. Everyone just sat there and stared at him and then at each other. No one knew what to do.
