11 You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,

12 that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise you forever.

Psalm 30:11-12, NIV

Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors.

Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world.

 PETER 2:12, NLT

As Christians, we are constantly under the scrutiny of the world – probably more than the people of other faiths. Somehow, the world expects us to be living on a higher moral plane, yet at the same time despises us for it (that’s the irony).

Weight is one of those sensitive topics that we normally avoid in a conversation. Yet, it’s also a subject that one should not ignore, brush away or take offence… especially if it concerns an underlying medical issue. Lately, some people have been asking about my weight loss and expressing concern.

I can still remember a game that my friends and I played during our youth fellowship days. Two persons were selected to represent two opposing teams to compete in an obstacle course. The game requires the participant who is blindfolded to navigate through a series of physical obstacles, such as chairs, tables and other objects without running into them. The team members will give out verbal instructions to their teammate, while the opposing team will shout as loud as they can to distract and to mislead their opponent with their conflicting instructions.

How often we hear this: “for the sake of unity, let us …………”

Having unity is not about agreeing to disagree, whenever one agrees with everyone, they ultimately agree with no one. Having unity is not about avoiding conflicts.
